Ruby Darlene Haney,
age 75 of Somerset, departed this life on Wednesday, April
20, 2011 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on
December 23, 1935 in the Hickorynut community of Nancy, KY
to the late Font Everett and Lola Ellen Sweet Carter.
Mrs. Haney was a homemaker, former seamstress for Palm
Beach Clothing Company, and attended the New Bethel
Baptist Church in Somerset. She was an avid U.K.
Basketball fan, loved horses, and enjoyed spending time
with her family, especially her grandchildren and great
grandchildren.
Mrs. Haney is survived
by her three sons, Lowell Edward (and Sandy) Haney of
Somerset, Paul Scott Haney of Somerset, and Everett Ray
(and Sherrie) Haney of Somerset; two daughters, Linda Gay
(and Paul) Dowell of Tateville, KY and Darlene Ruth (and
Chris) Bingham of Somerset; nine grandchildren, Rhonda
Bingham, Jessica Renee Branscum, Amanda Nicole Haney,
Patricia Haney, Jami Stigall, Derek Bingham, Tiffany
Haney, James Haney, and Breanna Haney; nine great
grandchildren; a brother, John William Carter of
Monticello, KY; and two sisters, Betty Joan Godby of
Somerset and Nancy Ruth Carter of Mt. Victory, KY.
Along with her
parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Muriel
Edward Haney, whom she married on June 16, 1956 in Nancy,
KY; two brothers, William Elza Carter and Ralph Carter;
and Doris Jean Carter and Regina Carter.
Visitation for Mrs.
Haney will be Friday, April 22nd at 6:00 pm at
Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80,
Somerset.
Funeral service will
be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 23rd at
the Memory Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with
Bro. Coy Cox officiating. Interment will be in the Sweet
Cemetery in Nancy, KY.
