Mary
Ann Wardrop Camden, age 85 of The Neighborhood, departed
this life on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Lake Cumberland
Regional Hospital.
She
was born on May 20, 1925 in Bonnie Bridge Sterling Shire,
Scotland to the late Thomas Wardrop and Elizabeth Emily
Letts Wardrop. Mrs. Camden served in the British
Army. She retired from the Social Security
Administration where she was an executive secretary for 26
years. She was an avid animal lover, boarding schnauzers
for several years and excellent baker. She
loved to knit and loved flower and vegetable gardening.
Mrs. Camden was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a
member of the Pisgah Presbyterian Church in Somerset.
Mrs.
Camden is survived by her husband, Charles M. Camden of
Somerset, whom she married on October 23, 1943 in North
Hampton, England; one son, Samuel Victor (and Jan) Camden
of Crystal Lake, IL; one daughter, Mary Jasper of
Somerset; six grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; one
brother, Richard Wardrop of Conn Bridge, Scotland.
Along
with her parents, she was preceded in death by his
son-in-law, Dr. Stephen Tyler Jasper and a sister,
Elizabeth Dobbie.
Visitation
will be Saturday, April 30th after 10:00 am at
the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with her
funeral service to follow at 12 noon with Dr. Greg Ryan
officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside Memorial
Gardens.
The

County, 255 South Maple Street, Somerset, KY 42501.
