Dail Sweet, age 83 of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. 

He was born on December 11, 1927 to the late James Dewey and Gertie Dick Sweet.  He was of the Church of God faith.  He was a retired truck driver. 

Mr. Sweet is survived by his wife, Linda Marlene Bray Sweet, whom he married in May of 1985 in Somerset, Kentucky; a step-son, Bruce Brown of Somerset, KY; a step-daughter, Connie (and Todd) Shabert of Somerset, KY; two grandchildren, Katrina (and Robert, Jr.) Gibson of Somerset, KY and a step-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Shabert; a step- great grandson, Jayden Shabert of Somerset, KY; four brothers, Silas (and Margie) Sweet of Nancy, KY, Dannie (and Coray) Sweet, Willis (and Pat) Sweet and Donnie (and Kay) Sweet of Ohio; one sister, Selma Sweet of Ohio; a special niece, Janie Burton and his beloved dog, Hawk-Eye. 

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Velva Early and Mavene Stringer. 

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 2, 2011 after 6:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Johnny Dunbar officiating.  Burial will be in the Ringgold Cemetery.
