Versa D. Adkins, age 74 of Nancy, Kentucky, departed this life on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born on August 7, 1937 in Fountain County, Indiana to the late Thomas and Ester Lee Benton Morgan.  She was of the Nazarene faith.  She was a homemaker and loved to sew and write poems. 

She is survived by her husband, Cecil Adkins, whom she married on March 24, 1971 in Oakland, California; six sons, Denny, Kenny, Sonny, Mike, Larry and Harley Britt; a daughter, Sheryll High; 58 grandchildren; 78 great grandchildren; two brothers, Buddy Morgan and Mike Stetler; and two sisters, Inajean Pyle and Marybell Clement.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Tom Britt; two daughters, Darneda Gaines and Sharon Akers; and a brother, Bill Stetler. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 after 6:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Brother Brian Fudge officiating.  Burial will be in Tarter Cemetery.
