Carl
H. McKinney, age 78 of the Jabez community, departed this
life on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Lake Cumberland
Regional Hospital.
He
was born on December 19, 1932 in Amigo, West Virginia to
the late Isadore and Georgia Rice McKinney. He was a
general foreman for TRW Small Motor Company in Dayton,
Ohio. He served in the United States Army in Korea.
He attended Dayton Baptist Temple. Mr. McKiney was
an excellent carpenter and builder. He loved
woodworking and was a Jack-of-all-trades. He loved
fishing, boating, skiing, camping and the outdoors.
Mr. McKinney was a loving husband, father, grandfather and
great grandfather.
He
is survived by his wife, Betty Carr McKinney, whom he
married on December 15, 1956 in Richmond, Indiana; a son,
Stephen Bennett (and Patricia) McKinney of Kettering, OH;
three daughters, Kathy Christene (and Bill) Aslasken of
Acton, CA, Dr. and Mrs. Victoria (and Jack) Gluckman of
Cincinnati, OH and Andrea (and Otis) White of San Antonio,
Texas; eight grandchildren, Scott (and Missy) Bennett,
Stacey Bennett, Stephanie Bennett, James Aslasken,
Samantha Buyniski, Edward Buyniski, John White and Vanessa
White; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Isadore (and
Florence) McKinney of Trenton, MI; and two sisters, Jo
Ellen Halsey of W.V. and Bertie Hale (and Charles) Walker
of Iron Gate, VA.
Along
with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister,
Jeanne Staunch.
Visitation
will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2011 after 11:00 am
at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West
Highway 80, Somerset, Kentucky with the funeral service to
follow at 2:00 pm. Brother James Floyd and Brother
David Casada will officiate. Burial will be in the
Morrow’s Chapel Cemetery in Jabez, Kentucky.
