Robert D. Stonecipher,
age 71 of Somerset, KY departed this life on Friday,
January 28, 2011 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington,
KY.
He was born on
September 22, 1939 in Mt. Pisgah, KY to the late Edgar and
Beatrice Koger Stonecipher. Mr. Stonecipher was a United
States Army veteran, retired control room operator for
Somerset Refinery, and of the Baptist faith. He was a
member of the Burnside Masonic Lodge #634 and the Scottish
Rite. Mr. Stonecipher was the former caretaker for the
Burnside Cemetery.
Mr. Stonecipher is
survived by two daughters, Hana Smith (and husband, Renny)
of Somerset, KY and Rebecca Stonecipher of Somerset, KY;
four grandchildren, Samuel A. Smith, Elias R. Smith,
Jeremiah Smith, and Annora Mercer; the mother of his
children, Rhonda Ritchie Stonecipher of St. Petersburg,
FL; three brothers, James Ray Stonecipher (and wife,
Betty) of Monticello, KY, Paul Stonecipher (and wife,
Vivian) of Monticello, KY, and David Stonecipher (and
wife, Kim) of Atlanta , GA; and two sisters, Lucille
Pleska of Troy, OH and Alta Jean Carter (and husband, Jim)
of Camp Nelson, KY.
He was preceded in
death by his parents, Edgar and Beatrice Stonecipher.
Visitation for Mr.
Stonecipher will be Sunday, January 30th at
6:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Masonic Rites
by the Burnside Masonic Lodge #634 at 7:00 pm.
Funeral service will
be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 31st at
the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. James
Floyd officiating. Burial will be in the Elk Springs
Cemetery in Monticello, KY.
The family requests
