Ronnie Gene Dykes, age 60, of Corbin passed away Monday, July 14, 2008.

Mr. Dykes was born in Somerset, KY on October 18, 1947 to the late Wesley and Bertene Baker Dykes. Retired law enforcement officer with the U.S. Forrest Service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was a member of the Providence Baptist Church. Mr. Dykes is one of the founding members of the Mt. Victory Volunteer Fire Department in May 1979 having served as chief and assistant chief.

He is survived by Vicki Garrison Dykes whom he married in 1972; 2 sons, Glenn & Brandy Dykes, Shopville, Steven & Stephanie Dykes, Mt. Victory; a daughter, Lori Young, London, KY; a brother, Marvin & Wanda Dykes, White Lily, KY and a grandchild, Ashley Dykes, Bronston.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Ronnie Gene Dykes will be held on Friday, July 18, 2008 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home at 11:00am with Bro Dalous Sears    officiating. Interment will follow in Garrison Family Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 5:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
