Lena Viola Sullivan Flynn, age 84 of Somerset, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born on February 7, 1924 in New Castle, Indiana to the late Afrey and Josephine Ellen Winchester Bates. She was a retired factory worker for the former Lear Seigler Plant and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and restoring antiques.

Mrs. Flynn is survived by three sons, William Haskell Sullivan of Somerset, James Lewis Flynn of Frankfort, KY, and David Allen Flynn of Burnside, KY; a daughter, Brenda Sue Flynn Hill of Science Hill, KY; four sisters, Alta Bedinghaus of Cincinnati, OH, Pauline Moody of Steubenville, OH, Wanda Giannunzio of Royal Oak, MI, and Wilma Risch of Cincinnati, OH; nine grandchildren, Christie, Charlene, Tammy, Nathan, Tonya, Jessica, Michael, Chad, and Jenny; and eleven great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; 1^st husband, Haskell Sullivan; 2^nd husband, Herman Flynn; two brothers, Leslie and Clyde; and four sisters, Lola Hill, Loraine Duchateau, Mary Ellen Bates, and Clara Louise Bates.

Visitation will be Sunday July 6^th from 6-9 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Monday, July 7^th at 11:00 am at Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. J.S. New officiating. Graveside service will be at 2:30pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Frankfort, KY.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Red Cross or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
