Mrs.
Grace Louise Decker, widow of Jackie “Jack” Amos
Decker, age 73, of Bronston, KY, passed away on Tuesday,
June 17, 2008 at her residence.
She
was born on February 11, 1935 in Tateville, KY to the late
Thomas and Flonnie Dobkins Stevens Sr. She was a homemaker
and attended the Tateville Church of God of Prophecy. She
loved volunteering as a foster grandmother with Oakwood
and was a former custodian of the 1st Baptist
Church of Somerset. She was a loving mother, grandmother,
and great grandmother.
Mrs.
Decker is survived by two sons, Jackie Decker Jr. of
Bronston, KY and Edward Lee “Eddie” Decker of Bronston,
KY; five daughters, Nelda Decker of Bronston, KY, Maria
Louise (and Charles) Bates of Tateville, KY, Loretta Lynn
Vaughn of Bronston, KY, Samantha Vaughn of Bronston, KY,
and Amy Ashton of Somerset, KY; and two sisters, Margaret
Bradshaw of Somerset and Hazel Stout of California, KY;
nineteen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren;
and a sister-in-law and best friend, Maudie Stevens.
Preceding
her in death were her parents; husband, Jackie “Jack”
Amos Decker, whom she married on December 27, 1954; a son,
Jackie Dennis Decker; six brothers, Thomas D. Stevens II,
Floyd Terry, Granville Stevens, Robert “Joe” Stevens,
Ray Stevens, and Elmer Stevens; and five sisters, Mary
Cox, Shelby Jean Horn, Lucille Newman, Claris Stevens, and
Edna Kate Barnett.
Visitation
will be Friday, June 20th after 6 pm at Lake
Cumberland Funeral Home.
Funeral
service will be Saturday, June 21st at 2:00 pm
at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro.
Roger Dykes and Bro. Ronnie Bradshaw officiating. Burial
will follow in the Grave Hill Cemetery, Tateville, KY.
In
lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to
the Grace Louise Decker Memorial Fund c/o Lake Cumberland
Funeral Home.
