with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 29, 2010

Linda Jones.
He is survived by his

years, Sue Childers Lockard of Bronston, KY; a daughter,

Joe was a man of few
words but he was a man who would give you from the heart
anything that was in his power to give. He retired from
Southern Belle Dairy after 27 years of service and
established Lockard’s Pallets Inc. in Somerset, KY.
He was a member of Denham Street Baptist Church and he
loved all the members and his church family.
Joe started fishing
Bass tournaments as a young man and was very successful
with 3 or 4 special friends but enjoyed and cherished his
partner he had for the past 14 years, his son Josh.
Joe loved going to the
Outer Banks twice a year and beach fishing or deep sea
fishing with his daughter, Suzanne. He also enjoyed
sitting on a balcony at Pigeon Forge and watching the
river flow from the mountains.
Most of all, Joe loved
the Lord and sitting on his back deck and waiting and
watching his small world around him to awaken early in the
morning. Watching his deer, squirrel and chipmunk he fed
and built shelters for. He would always thank God for all
the blessings he sent down to him and thanked Him for
another day. Joe wanted everyone to forgive him if he
failed to mention Jesus to them.
The family will
receive visitors at Denham Street Baptist Church after
5:00 pm on Tuesday, August 31st.
Funeral service will
be at 11:00 am at the Denham Street Baptist Church on
