Mildred Carlton McQuarter, age 85, of Somerset, KY, passed away Friday, September 3rd, 2010 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Mrs. McQuarter was born in the Stab Community, KY on August 20^th, 1925 to the late Emmett H. & Ara Bullock Carlton. She loved to Quilt, Garden and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. McQuarter was of Baptist faith.

Mrs. McQuarter is survived by a son; Joe & (Glenda) McQuarter of Casey County, KY, two daughters; Linda & (Jim) Adams of Mansfield, OH, Brenda & (Denny) Ridener of Somserset, KY, a daughter in-law; Shirley McQuarter, former daughter in-laws; Margaret McQuarter, and Sue Hammond, sixteen grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband; Johnny C. McQuarter, whom she married on March 28^th, 1944, a son; John Robert McQuarter, three sisters; Ora Mounce, Myrtle Bullock, Alpha Phelps, four brothers; Orville Carlton, Lloyd Carlton, Raymond Carlton, and James Edwin Carlton.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 5^th, 2010 at 6:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mildred Carlton McQuarter will be held on Monday, September 6^th, 2010 at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home at 11:00am with Bro. Raymond Ridener officiating. Interment will follow in Acorn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
